Hair.....some could say its a family thing. My older (and only) sister was a hairstylist. Growing up, that was a huge benefit for me as she would always indulge my whims to be on the cutting edge with the newest hairstyles. I was in awe of how being a hairstylist was a balance of creativity, technicality and chemistry. But instead of choosing that path right away, I got my college degree and worked in the family dry cleaning business. But it was only after getting married and being uprooted from my childhood home that I had the opportunity to finally fulfill that quiet dream of being a hairstylist.
I received my cosmetology training in Honolulu, Hawaii then was extensively trained with the Aveda brand for over a decade. I've always set out to challenge myself and my love of haircolor brought me to becoming a Certified Haircolorist with Redken. I've always seen how a hairstylist can make a huge impact on another person's life and I wanted to make sure I had the best skills possible to deliver that. That type of impact was never more large than when I started offering extensions.
First off, I wear extensions myself. I have super fine, thin hair (thanks mom!) and as the years go on, it gets thinner. When I experienced extensions for the first time, I felt complete. The confidence I felt was immense and getting extensions was so much easier than trying to lose those stubborn 10 pounds! I knew there were so many others out there just like me, not happy with how their hair looked. So I set out to learn all I could about the methods there are (see my certifications below.) And man, are there ALOT of different methods, brands, techniques. I've narrowed my focus to where I feel can help the most people, many times using multiple techniques on one person.
But it's not all about hair! I am a cat mom to Erik, Scarlett, Roger, Sophia and Lucky and a dog mom to Rayna and Apollo. My husband and I have season tickets to the Nashville Predators and I hope to see them win the Stanley Cup some day (they got close in 2017.) I'm originally from West Des Moines, Iowa and still call it home even though I've lived in Clarksville Tennessee for more that 22 years. I'm a lover of Classic Rock, Starbucks lattes, Gucci bags, and sci-fi movies.
To know if I can help you, I need to know a little bit about you before scheduling a consultation. What's your experience with extensions, what are you looking to achieve, do you have a deadline? Click below to start the conversation:
IBE certification requires hands on, real world application training. For clients wanting a true invisible method, IBE is the way to go.
Hotheads introduced their new Keraflex extensions and I was thrilled to be a part of their inaugural certification class.
The hairtalk brand is the creator of tape-in extensions. I am certified in their brand-specific methods of tape-in and sew-in weft applications. Certification entails in-person instruction and assessment from a hairtalk master educator.
Hotheads extensions have a huge selection of tape-in and weft extensions, of which I am certified in both methods.
One of the most rigorous brand certifications. Redken requires one full day of technical hands-on testing AND a full day of written testing. This certification is achieved only after passing both days of testing.
Hotheads extensions have a huge selection of tape-in and weft extensions, of which I am certified in both methods.
