Please text me at 833-206-3442 if you cannot find an answer to your question.
This is probably my most asked question. And for good reason. High-quality extensions installed by an experienced stylist are an investment and knowing the price ahead of time is important. But since extensions are so customized, it's impossible to give a quote without seeing you in person. The method, the length of hair and the quantity needed to create your final look all play a part in the cost. For a very general idea of cost, click here.
When you get a quote from me, it includes more than just your customized colors of hair extensions and a certified install. I go beyond the basics and take the time to detail and shape the extensions with your hair. It's crucial to seamlessly blend extensions so they are completely undetectable. I'll also send you home with some specially curated items to help you take care of your extensions. Need any other advice? I'm just a text away!
It's best to plan your new look with extensions several weeks out. After the in person consultation, time is needed to order the perfect match hair for you.
Also, there are instances where the extension hair would need to be rooted or toned to complete the perfect match. When you fill out your pre consult form, be sure to let me know any deadline you are working with.
Regular adjustments between 6-8 weeks will give you an average lifespan of the hair. With tape-ins, they can last 3-6 months. Sew-in wefts and micro cylinders can last a year or more. Accessory pieces like halos and falls can last more than a year since they do not need to be shampooed as often. Just like your own hair, excessive use of heat styling, too frequent shampooing and not keeping the hair from matting or tangling can shorten the lifespan of your extensions.
The short answer is "No." When they are installed properly and at-home care is followed, extensions are safe
Once your extensions are installed, I will provide you with all the info you need to take care of your extensions at home. Since your extensions are human hair, they need to be treated gently and deep conditioned regularly (but not at the root!) To extend the life of hair extensions, most people decrease the times they shampoo their hair to once or twice a week. Keeping your hair braided during activities and sleeping is also important.
If you opt for attached extensions (tape-in, sew-in, micro cylinder) they need to be adjusted approximately every 6 weeks. As your hair grows, the extensions drop away from the scalp and are then removed and reapplied. Pricing will vary depending on the method and quantity you have. If you have your color touched up regularly, it's best to coordinate your adjustment with your color appointment. It is not recommended to color your hair while extensions are attached.
If having attached extensions is not for you, an accessory like a halo would be perfect. It's an easy, maintenance-free way to get long, thick hair. If you are thinning on top or need length at the front, a topper or fall could be your perfect piece. Schedule your consult to try on different lengths and colors to see if it's right your you.
Absolutely not! There are so many possibilities. Extensions can be used to add a highlighted or balayaged effect without having to possibly damage your own hair. Extensions can also be used to spot treat breakage around the front hairline. Adding a few meticulously placed pieces can instantly add density. If your hair is already at a length you prefer but it lacks volume, extensions are the perfect way to boost density.
The first step is to have a consultation with me. I can give some information via a text or video, for example, if you are not sure if extensions are even an option for you. But in order to give a quote, you will need an in person consultation. Once I know the method, colors and quantity needed for you, a deposit is taken and your installation date is scheduled.
I understand extensions are an investment and you may have hair or be wearing extensions from a previous stylist or salon. If you are currently wearing sew-in/hand tied extensions, you can schedule with me online. If you have your own extension hair, a consultation is ideal to see if I can help you. We can decide if this hair can be reused or would still work with your current color or length.
